PARENT VOLUNTEERS

With a trained teacher librarian the M.P.S. library/resource centre;

* supports and maintains effective parent, student, staff and community participation and pride in our school.

* encourages community library volunteers to assist.

* welcomes parents and grandparents to donate resources during the year.

BOOK WEEK

A highlight of our literary calendar is our annual  Book Week festivities celebrating The Children's Book Council award winning literature. In 2009 the theme is "BOOK SAFARI" and parents/carers are invited to this exciting event.

Students use the internet as well as books to investigate their research topics  during their timetabled lessons which develop information skills. They follow 6 steps in the information process including:
